As record breaking rain and temperatures hit the Sacramento area, many are finding solace in the warmth of their homes. For the area’s homeless, however, bad weather and freezing temperatures can often equal a full and cramped homeless shelter.
This winter, Mayor Kevin Johnson has launched a community shelter program that focuses on local businesses, non-profits and religious organization’s offering the Sacramento homeless a refuge from the elements from November to March of next year.

Voyage Home Loans Team Goodness will be participating in the second annual Police Activities League’s Holiday Run on Saturday, December 11 in Rancho Cordova.
PAL is a youth crime prevention program that utilizes educational, athletic, and recreational activities to create a strong relationship between community youth and police officers. The Holiday Run event proceeds will help the PAL continue to offer free activities and programs to the youth of Rancho Cordova and they hope to fill up to four patrol cars with toys for children and youth.
Voyage Team Goodness will not only be participating in the run/walk for the event, but they have also raised hundreds of dollars to purchase new toys as a donation for the event’s toy drive. As a PAL partner, Voyage firmly supports the mission of the organization and is looking forward to the upcoming event.

Voyage Home Loans donated $480 worth of school supplies to 60 third grade students of Freeport Elementary School of Sacramento on Friday, September 10.
Each student received a binder and a goody bag full of school supplies, which included scissors, colored pencils, crayons, watercolor sets, a highlighter, a glue stick, a ruler, four pencils and four erasers. They also provided each of the three third grade classrooms with notebook paper, copy paper, colored paper, tissues, and alcohol-free hand sanitizer.

Voyage Home Loans strives to make a difference in its community through various charitable endeavors each month and in July, their focus is to help save lives. On Thursday, July 8, Voyage will be hosting a blood drive with BloodSource, a northern and central California blood bank, at Voyage's headquarters in Sacramento.

Voyage will be hosting a BBQ Friday, June 25th to honor Voyage Processor Courtney Hribal’s son, Trevon Lockwood, for his outstanding academic achievements.
Last year, Tre scored 600 out of 600 in the math category and ‘advanced’ in every other category on his STARR testing at school. He was among the 10 out of 1,200 students acknowledged by the Men of Mason’s Lodge. Tre was given an award and a fifty dollar savings bond.
